This We Believe
Immanuel Temple School of the Bible believes the Bible is the inerrant, inspired Word of the living God. It is the final authority on all matters of life, faith and holy living. Biblical interpretation premises that “Scripture interprets Scripture.”
We believe in the Trinitarian God of the Bible, one in substance, three in Persons, consisting of God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. We do not believe these are titles; we believe in Three Persons, yet one in Substance. We do not believe the Holy Spirit is and “it.” He is a Person!
We believe that the Son of God, the second Person of the Godhead, took upon Himself the form of man, according to John1:1-2 and John 1:12, becoming the God-man (Adonai), with two distinct natures, and by His atoning work through His death, burial, and resurrection, has made salvation for man by His free grace and mercy! We believe that salvation is by the work of the Holy Spirit in regenerating and converting the hearts of men.
We believe in the personal return of Jesus Christ, and the eternal damnation of the wicked, and in everlasting life with the living God for the righteous.
We believe in the Baptism of The Holy Spirit (Jesus is the Baptizer), with the evidence of speaking in tongues. We do not require this of our students, but we do require respect for our beliefs. The Bible teaches the Baptism of The Holy Spirit so there is no debate. We, therefore, believe in the operation of the Gifts of The Spirit.
We believe that there is but one head of the Church, the Lord Jesus Christ, and that He has placed pastors as overseers of the Church. We believe in the Divine Authority God has placed in the pastors, and we believe those under such authority must submit and respect the authority of each local Church, Bible school or organization that God has set in place. (Example: “My privileges end where the local pastor’s authority begins.”)
We believe that Jesus of Nazareth was God Incarnate; lived on earth; died for the sins of the world; arose from the tomb -- resurrected on the third day; He is now seated at the right hand of The Father (“position of authority”) and is coming again -- soon!
